After 25 years of fund development experience, hundreds of thousands of dollars raised from successful grants and proposals, and mentoring nonprofit boards and staff members, Nancy will still tell you her most important role is that of a mother.

Daughters Sadie and Emmie, who reside in the Carolinas, have strong connections to philanthropy.  Although Sadie works in advertising at Wildfire, she spends countless hours assisting selected charities in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Emmie, who is bi-lingual, just spent the summer teaching English to children in Puriscal, Costa Rica and returned to begin a career with Sistercare, Inc. which provides services for battered women and their children in Columbia, South Carolina.

Nancy’s husband of almost 30 years Richard Caplan owns Richard Caplan and Associates, a consulting firm that provides economic development expertise to cities, counties and private entities throughout the country.

When not at work, which is a rare moment, Nancy is a devout fan of college sports; reads voraciously; tinkers in the garden; and enjoys walking with friends.
